Depression is a serious mental health condition that affects millions of people around the world. It is often accompanied by feelings of hopelessness and helplessness, which can make it difficult for sufferers to see a way out. At Hope in Depression, we believe that there is always hope and that with the right support and resources, anyone can overcome depression and anxiety.

Empowering Those Affected by Depression and Anxiety

Hope in Depression is a six-week course that provides sufferers and supporters/carers of depression and anxiety with the tools and knowledge they need to understand what is happening physically and how to care for themselves or others. The course is delivered by a network of partners who are all trained professionals, offering a safe and confidential environment. The course covers a range of subjects, including talks by experts in the field of psychiatry, GP, therapy, nutrition, mindfulness, and fitness.

Designed for All Backgrounds and Ages

Our mission is to empower, equip, and educate beneficiaries to be a part of their own recovery. We believe that everyone should have access to the resources they need to overcome depression and anxiety, regardless of their background, age, or income. The course encourages people to come out of isolation and into a community of fellow sufferers and supporters who truly understand what they are going through.

Innovative and Adaptable

In 2023, Hope in Depression will be developing and providing the course in different ways to meet the needs of different groups. A youth adaptation will be offered to reach schools, universities, and young people, while a bitesize version will be made available for those who are time-poor or prefer a more streamlined approach to mental health. This will also make it easier for our partners to provide the course more often with less of a time commitment.

Inspired by Lived Experience

I founded Hope in Depression at a time when I too was struggling with depression and felt a complete lack of hope. After battling back to health, I realised that my suffering and recovery had to be for a reason and so I created Hope in Depression to provide a space for others who were struggling with similar feelings. Over the years the course has been a lifeline for many, offering a safe and confidential environment where people can put down their "I'm fine" mask and be open and honest about their feelings, and ultimately recover. We would love for you to help support us as we move forward with our commitment to help others find hope.
